What is the program like? What do we do?

The year begins in September and concludes in May. There are 10 program days including a mandatory overnight out-of-town opening retreat conducted in September. You meet one day per month, on the second Thursday of each month from October to May, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Days include panal discussions, hands-on-tours, and interactive discussions with community leaders. The fast pace can be exhausting, and the days long, but the experiences are unforgetable.

Besides the program days, is there any other time requirement?

You will be asked to do a small-group community project during class that can will require additional time outside of class. Also, you will be required to do "homework" assignments outside of regular class day, which could take up to an additional two to four hours per month.

I'm interested. How does the process work?

We ask that you complete an application and turn it in by August 20th each year. Then, a group of Leadership alumni review the application and select the class. Decisions are made by the end of August and you will receive notification by mail. If you are not selected, possibly because of class size limitations, you may apply again the following year.
